I've known about the band for a few years now they have been on the indie circuit but never had a chance to see them. Which is shame because they have such an original sound that draws you in and makes you want to listen and you find out they have some amazing lyrics.
I do think the band have a bit of eccentricity about them they wear there tweed suits which is great for a band to cement their own look. They also have a bassist called The House Of Lords. This to me is what is so great about a band as they are out there having fun and enjoying what they're doing.
They have been around for a few years now and haven't always have the best reviews for their work. There latest album is Ornaments from the Silver Arcade. It's there third full length album. It has such a infectiousness to it I find some of the songs very bright and uplifting. You can tell that they try and do stuff that's very different with their music they try and stand out from the rest.
I have looked around and have found a lot of people have been saying its crunch time for them and this album.
I feel there songs have sense of place a purpose. There not like your normal indie band like maybe the wombats or pigeon detectives with skinny jeans and crazy lyrics.
On one of the songs on the album woman it has a woman backing singer and it puts a dubby effect over the lead singer's voice giving it some bite. The other songs on a whole are very energetic and entertaining to listen.
I am not sure if the band are going to make a big impact on the music industry with this album or have done but it's nice to see them try and put something different out there.
